Be brutally honest: Are you OUTRAGED that a white man just attempted to assassinate Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, spraying an unknown and potentially deadly chemical on her as she was calling for President Trump’s DHS Secretary, Kristi Noem, to resign or face impeachment? Yes or no?
Horrified that Rep. Ilhan Omar was attacked at a town hall meeting this evening. She is a strong, courageous and principled public servant. We stand with Ilhan and her family during this terrifying time.
Political violence of any kind is never acceptable. The perpetrator must be criminally prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
During her town hall, an agitator tried to attack the Congresswoman by spraying an unknown substance with a syringe. Security and the Minneapolis Police Department quickly apprehended the individual. He is now in custody. The Congresswoman is okay. She continued with her town hall because she doesn’t let bullies win.”
Representative Omar continued her town hall because of one of two options:
1. She does not have the self-preservation instincts accompanying being sprayed with a smelly substance, such as getting a doctor to check it out or even as simple as washing it off.
2. She staged it.
Ahh yes, whenever a democratic lawmaker is attacked, it must be a false flag because there's no imagining a scenario where someone they might identify with would commit such an act. It's the same old f-cking delusion time and time again. The party of "personal responsibility" can't seem to ever take responsibility for a damn thing.
Claims of "the left" and its "violent rhetoric" act as rationalizations for Donald Trump and MAGA to continue lamenting their persecution at the hands of some nebulous, imaginary "radical left" enemy lurking around every corner.
A boogeyman, a scapegoat that they obsess over to justify their own hostility, violence, inflammatory rhetoric, hate, paranoid delusions and bigotry.
An enemy they identify as some kind of existential threat to their racial, cultural, moral, political, and social superiority...
A fictional threat that's become the centerpiece of their culture wars and a convenient excuse for their oppressive crusade against all those who remain defiant of Donald Trump and his policies.
If this was a Homeland Security conference, the attacker would have been shot, made an example of, and then characterized by the right as a domestic terrorist belonging to a nation-wide, hostile, "radical left" insurgency posing an existential threat to Western Civilization itself.
Right-wing media would respond by bolstering this narrative among others that depict the country as being embroiled in a war between the forces of good and evil.
The White House would immediately respond with a similar narrative; escalating their culture wars and painting all left-wing protestors and political opponents as violent "agitators" and "rebels;" which would help to reinforce a feedback loop of fearmongering messaging directed at receptive Republican audiences who are currently desperate for any sort of validation for their hate, contempt, and violent impulses towards the groups of people they demonize on a daily basis.
The administration would respond with inflammatory rhetoric and rationalizations for more military incursions and strong arm tactics, all the while lamenting their persecution and oppression at the hands of a violent, radical left-wing mob and rebellion.
