বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দল (বিএনপি)-র চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমানকে বাংলাদেশের ভবিষ্যত প্রধানমন্ত্রী হিসেবে অগ্রিম অভিনন্দন জানাচ্ছি। তিনি আজ আমার আবাসিক কার্যালয়ে এসেছিলেন।

 বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দল (বিএনপি)-র চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমানকে বাংলাদেশের ভবিষ্যত প্রধানমন্ত্রী হিসেবে অগ্রিম অভিনন্দন জানাচ্ছি। তিনি আজ আমার আবাসিক কার্যালয়ে এসেছিলেন। তার এই আগমন আমাদের জাতীয় রাজনীতির জন্য এক ঐতিহাসিক মুহূর্ত। আমি তার এই আগমনকে স্বাগত জানাই এবং প্রত্যাশা রাখি, সংলাপ ও দায়িত্বশীলতার মাধ্যমে এটি রাজনৈতিক পরিপক্কতা ও পারস্পরিক শ্রদ্ধার এক নতুন অধ্যায় সূচনা করবে।

আমি এমন এক বাংলাদেশ গড়ার স্বপ্ন দেখি যা হবে ফ্যাসিবাদমুক্ত, সার্বভৌম এবং ইনসাফ ও ন্যায়বিচারের ওপর প্রতিষ্ঠিত। বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামী ১১-দলীয় জোটের সাথে মিলে একটি সমৃদ্ধ, স্থিতিশীল ও আধুনিক রাষ্ট্র প্রতিষ্ঠায় প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ, যা গণতান্ত্রিক মূল্যবোধ এবং সাংবিধানিক শাসনের ওপর ভিত্তি করে পরিচালিত হবে। আমাদের আলোচনায় তিনি আশ্বস্ত করেছেন যে, নির্বাচন-পরবর্তী সহিংসতা এবং বিরোধী দলের কর্মী ও সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের ওপর যেকোনো হামলা রোধে তিনি কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ নেবেন। আমি এই আশ্বাসকে সাধুবাদ জানাই। আমাদের প্রত্যাশা, কোনো নাগরিকই যেন ভয়ভীতি বা নিরাপত্তাহীনতার শিকার না হয়।

জাতীয় স্বার্থের বিষয়ে আমরা নির্বাচিত সরকারকে পূর্ণ সহযোগিতা প্রদান করবো, তবে একটি আদর্শিক বিরোধী দল হিসেবে আমাদের সাংবিধানিক দায়িত্ব পালনে আমরা আপসহীন থাকবো। সরকারের জনকল্যাণমূলক কাজে আমাদের সমর্থন থাকবে, কিন্তু যেখানেই জবাবদিহিতার প্রয়োজন হবে, সেখানে আমরা সোচ্চার থাকবো। আমাদের উদ্দেশ্য সংঘাত নয় বরং সংশোধন; বাধা দেওয়া নয় বরং পর্যবেক্ষণ। দেশের মানুষ এমন একটি সংসদ প্রত্যাশা করে, যা ন্যায়বিচার ও নাগরিক অধিকার রক্ষা করবে এবং স্থিতিশীলতার সাথে রাষ্ট্রকে সামনের দিকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাবে।

Advance congratulations to Tarique Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), on his election as the incoming Prime Minister of Bangladesh. His visit to my residential office marks an important moment in our national political journey. We welcome this engagement in a spirit of dialogue and responsibility and we hope it signals a new chapter of institutional maturity and mutual respect.

We envision building a Bangladesh that is free from fascism, sovereign in its decision-making and founded upon justice. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, together with the 11-party alliance, remains committed to establishing a prosperous, stable and modern state grounded in democratic values and constitutional governance. In our discussions, he reaffirmed that steps are being taken regarding incidents of post-election violence, including actions to address harm against opposition supporters and minority communities. We welcome this assurance and reiterate that no citizen, regardless of political affiliation, should face intimidation or insecurity.

We will cooperate fully on matters of national interest, yet we will discharge our constitutional duty as a firm and principled opposition. Where the government acts in the public interest, we will support. Where accountability is required, we will speak. Our objective is not confrontation but correction; not obstruction, but oversight. The people deserve a parliament that safeguards justice, protects rights and advances the nation with stability and confidence.
